WHETHER we live in London or not, everyone is now concerned with the soaring incidence of knife crime.
In just one week, there seemed to be a new murder each day in the capital and the trend appears to be continuing here and elsewhere in cities like Manchester.
So it was disappointing to learn that one in 10 with a previous history for knife possession was not, as promised, automatically imprisoned but let off.
This amounted to 2,106 people last year.
The public needs to see people punished for knife-carrying before they simply learn of more murders as a result.
