MANY readers must be as perplexed and disgusted with your article of December 27 entitled “Tally ho to keeping up the hunt tradition”.
As one spectator said: “It’s a good day out and a good way to walk off the Christmas dinner.”
There was not one mention of the cruelty of hunting animals with other animals.
If “tradition” or “jobs” are mentioned, then all manner of abuse can take place in the UK.
Lee Moon, spokesman for the Hunt Saboteurs Association, stated: “Boxing Day is the sanitised, media-friendly press stunt that the hunting community use each year to pull the wool over the eyes of the British public.
“Cruelty is the grim reality of what occurs the rest of the time when the media spotlight is elsewhere. Landowners allow illegal acts to take place on their land.
Slavery, dog fighting and men-only votes were tradition.
Hunting — what a dreadful word!
