IN The Bolton News, Thursday, April 3,NHS views wanted, it stated that NHS bosses wanted members of the public to take part in a consultation about which hospital and GP services they would they prioritise, and for this they would be paid £30 and given a free lunch.

This is to take place on April 12 at an unnamed location, people were given a email address to register, by Monday, April 7.

What I would like to know, and I am sure a majority of the 60,000 plus who have signed a petition in Bolton to protect our hospital and its services, is where is the money coming from to pay participants £30 with a free lunch? Is it out of public funds, or the local NHS budget. This question needs to be addressed by the Bolton CCG which is hosting the event.

It comes at a time when our local NHS, is suffering severe cuts to to funding £73 million over next five years, cuts totally unnecessary in my party’s view.

Society is judged by how it treats it sick, and disabled. And a fully funded NHS is a must in a civilised society, the people of Bolton value greatly their health care provision.
