I HAVE been complaining to Bolton Council for over five months about the speed at which vehicles are travelling on Smithills Hall and Park estate. There used to be a 10mph speed limit sign but this has been knocked down and not replaced. Every time I have spoken to a Council representative, he/she has promised that it will be replaced but this has not happened.
This is a serious and safety issue as children and other pedestrians are at risk. It is a country park and those who use it should be able to do so in safety.
Construction vehicles travel far too fast and so do the members of the public going to the animal farm.
This is a plea to the Council to replace the speed signs. In addition, could something also be done to stop coaches parking outside the gatehouse which is just inside the country park and at the bus stop just outside the gates, both dangerous places to park.
