BOWLING, in various forms, has been played for more than 500 years, making crown green bowling part of our heritage.
Bolton Council is putting our greens in jeopardy by poor maintenance and infrequent mowing, etc.
I realise that budgets are tight, but money appears to be found for pet projects where there is a photo opportunity for councillors.
Moss Bank Park, in particular, is plagued by youths playing football on both greens most evenings, causing irreparable damage.
When we go to play evening matches, we are faced with threats and intimidation.
Please can Bolton Council act before we lose the bowling greens forever?
Eric Cheatle Secretary Moss Bank Mortfield Bowling Club
