CONCERNING pedal cyclists riding through traffic lights on red becoming a regular occurence lately — not young boys but older men in their 30s through to their 60s.
When I was at school we used to recite a little poem: “Stop said the red light, go said the green. Wait said the amber light, winking in between. That’s what they say and that’s what they mean. We all must obey them, even the Queen.”
What gives them the authority to break the law — two wheels? I’m a driver of over 40 years; if I was to proceed through lights on red I would probably be banned or receive a hefty fine and points on my licence.
So, cyclists on your bikes, stick to the laws.
By the way, I do see motorists going through on red, but not as often as the cyclists.
