I WOULD like to comment on the outrageous behaviour of two councillors who failed to pay council tax, not for one year but two years.

This should be totally unacceptable and they should make a full and frank apology to their constituents who have a right to know.

Did these two councillors remember to draw their expenses for those two years that they did not pay their council tax?

Politicians frequently ask why nobody likes them. Quite simply they behave as though they are above the law; politicians have no shame and these two individuals are a disgrace to the council and the town.

But the leaders of the two parties involved, Labour and Conservative, make mealy-mouthed gestures. It’s not right, they say, but there’s nothing we can do about it. Yes there is. Quite simply you can expel the individuals from the party unless they make a full disclosure to their electorate.

It is unacceptable that these people have no shame whatsoever. The electorate have a right to know who they are voting for and, yet again, it shows that you cannot put a cigarette paper between Labour and Conservative as they behave as despicably as each other.

My recommendation is to only vote for independent candidates — they cannot be worse than what we’ve got now.
