I REFER to the story, August 20, that the population of Bolton will increase by 12 per cent by 2035, and additional 33,460 people.

Most of this increase will be due to the influx of black and minority residents living in the borough.

It has already increased from 12.8 per cent over the past ten years and they now form 22 per cent of the population, ie: some 58,000.

I understand from the official statistics that they also account for nearly 30 per cent of the births in Bolton.

This massive influx of people is of course due to labour’s ‘open door’ policy during their time in power, deliberately designed to massively increase their voter base across the country.

I very much doubt if the current council has the foresight or are even concerned about the problems this massive population increase will have.

For example, the story indicates that there will be massive increase of 37 per cent in the number of over 65s living in the area and yet the council is closing elderly persons/homes and reducing its social care provision.

The limp response from a council spokesman failed to completely address this issues.

My fear is that all these problems will bring about unrest in the community when they wake up and realise exactly what is happening.

Well spotted Tim. I am surprised that worly-wise Thomas did not spot that himself!!!!

As a point of fact we do not have open borders and we didn't have under labour! ALL passports are checked both upon entering and leaving the country. Fellow EU citizens can even be refused entry into the country - FACT! And is a fact that I have seen it happen on more than one occasion not only at Manchester Airport, but also Liverpool JL Airport, Blackpool Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport and even at Heathrow - I have also seen it happen at Port of Hull, Holyhead, Dover and at Southampton!

Lets not forget, which Thomas readily does, that the UK and Ireland (Eire) NEVER signed up to the Schengen Agreement which means we do not have open borders!

As for non-EU citizens, Thomas, and the writer, seems to forget that to get into the UK they have to apply for a Visa, even if they travel via another EU country!!! And it is the Home Office that issue's the Visa's and as such there is control and readily available figures!

Not only the points you raise Nigella but conveniently the letter writer who IS racist, stupidly doesn't account for internal migration excluding the Republic of Ireland nor allow for the wave of Scots expected if they vote for independence.

Things change Tim and always do when issues that matter to the Majority concern them greatly.

Champagne celebration after the Tory defection and hopefully more to come, also the death of Labour Councils after they have been exposed for becoming a Party who have used a culture of denial for own gains while leaving UK Children at risk from bad people. Lots to come on that issue. Told you long ago one day it will change, it has welcome to the new order.

Labour will have a backlash with the Northern Towns they control because the majority really do feel they have sold them down the river in many ways for personal gains. Bolton Labour will lose three MPs next time out and the Council with them. UKIPs Manifesto will clean up.
