WHILE it makes sense to help patients’ recuperation with decent food I really don’t understand the current vilification of hospital meals generally.

Perhaps we’re just lucky locally. I’ve been a patient at the Royal Bolton Hospital a couple of times and thought the food was good: the choice was comprehensive and the meals generally tasty.

They’re not restaurant-standard but then, news flash, I was in a hospital and the main concern was medical treatment not awarding culinary stars.

Catering for so many patients around the wards with tasty, balanced and healthy meals is a particular challenge which is met well, at least here.
