THE incident involving a grandfather punched in the face in a road rage incident in Walkden is an indicator of life today.

Mr Peter Stringer was walking his dogs when he was attacked after he raised his arms to question why a Mercedes’ driver had raced past him so quickly. The driver was apparently so enraged by this that he reversed back, then hit the 71 year-old in the face and broke his jaw.

A police spokesman said that “people change when they get behind the wheel”, and he’s right. Some lose all perspective of decent behaviour. In other words, dare to question what I do and expect a fist in the face.

This out-of-control thug needs to be found and arrested as quickly as possible. Someone knows who he is, or might be, and needs to talk to the police.
