WE’VE certainly got plenty to thanks Bolton’s past benefactors for these days.
Although we tend to take the buildings around us for granted, film and TV companies see them with fresh eyes and like to use various local locations. The town centre became Harrogate train station in the latest reincarnation for BBC One’s romantic drama Last Tango In Halifax.
Cheadle Square and the magnificent sweep of the Town Hall and Le Mans Crescent have proved popular this time, along with Mere Hall and Queens Park.
These enduring legacies not only still please Boltonians and visitors but are now shared with a wider public. In spite of the moaners and whingers, there is still plenty to boast about in Bolton.
