JUST a personal observation but my telly highlight on Christmas Day will be the Call the Midwife Christmas special.

The whole series has been beautifully written and observed, about genuine people and circumstances from a time when cash was in short supply but kindness wasn’t.

It’s already established itself as top TV viewing. This seasonal offering promises all the right festive ingredients, from tears and laughter to finely drawn characters plus a talented starry cast. It’s probably the prelude to the next series – thank goodness – and it provides the best feelgood factor you’ll get over the next few viewing days.
