RADIO DJ Chris Evans not only proved very brave the other day but also probably saved lives.
The Warrington-born broadcaster told listeners he was “in the middle of the tests” for prostate cancer. This comment came after Kenny Jones, former drummer with The Who and a prostate cancer survivor – appeared on Evans’ popular breakfast show in support of a charity campaign.
Evans explained how he’d been having to urinate more than usual recently but had ignored symptoms for a while before going to see his GP.
“Prostate cancer, along with colon cancer, of course, is one of the most survivable forms of cancer there is if caught early enough. If not, one of the least,” he stated.
His own example is bound to resonate with many men – notorious for not seeking help early for potentially serious maladies. Chris deserves our congratulations and thanks. His brave words may just prove lifesavers.
