THE future of Bolton cider makers is under threat from EU regulations.
Now, family business Red Bank Cider, from Bradley Fold, is campaigning alongside hundreds of other small UK cider producers against EU plans to remove duty exemption worth around £4,166.
The company’s award-winning real ciders could soon disappear if the exemption is removed. These have proved popular in pubs across Bolton and Bury and a Facebook group has now been started to try to get Government support for this fight.
This is definitely one campaign worth supporting: it aims to protect our favourite tipple and small local businesses, too.
