I DON’T think Coronation Street would be nearly as interesting without devilish drug dealer Callum Logan.
Good-looking actor Sean Ward strikes just the right modern note of
inbred callousness, with the occasional suggestion of genuine feelings deeply hidden, to make the character totally believable.
The interplay with the deliciously daft but scheming 14 year-old Bethany Platt (newcomer Lucy Fallon) is not only priceless but shows exactly what can happen to today’s teens.
The storylines surrounding Callum, his son Max, girlfriend Sarah and her daughter are among the series’ best-written and most acutely observed. Probably social engineering at its most effective.
