DON’T you just love the story of the shoplifter who marched into a police station to complain about wanted posters of him breaching his human rights.
Nicholas Allegretto was pictured on CCTV after trying to steal a valuable magnet from a Cambridge shop.
This was made into a poster and, in spite of thick red and blue lines obscuring his face, he was recognised when it was published in a local newspaper.
Allegretto went into the police station complaining about the poster and saying his family were being affected and his boss at the roofing company where he worked had sacked him. Not too surprisingly, he was arrested, appeared in court and was found guilty and fined.
The sheer blinding arrogance of someone in this situation is quite amazing It does make you wonder if wanted criminals will soon be suing police because wanted posters make them look fat. Unbelievable.
