DID you give a private cheer about the story of the unemployed strongman who helped local people in flood-damaged homes?

Dan Kenny, aged 25 from Moses Gate, didn’t hesitate to help when he heard about besieged householders in Stoneclough, assisting in clearing up the mess wreaked by flood-water.

His determination and dedication brought him to the attention of property restoration company, Heightvale, who offered him a job.

It’s a remarkable story in several ways, not least because Dan didn’t voluntarily toil daily because there was something in it for him. And remarkable because of how circumstances combined for a happy ending.

Adversity definitely brings out the best in people in all ways. If you haven’t got the muscles you can still offer support and aid where you can, and so many local people have.

It’s just marvellous that one man’s sincere efforts have resulted in something so positive for him.
