BURY-born actress Georgia May Foote certainly did the locality proud on Strictly Come Dancing.
Georgia, aged 24, narrowly missed winning the last series and proved that swapping the cobbles of Coronation Street for the dance-floor was something that suited her well.
With her professional partner Giovanni Pernice, she dazzled audiences and viewers alike, improving dramatically over the weeks to put in some stunning performance, prompting high scores and praise from the judges.
Now she’s touring with the show and at the Manchester Arena on January 30 and 31, and it’s a safe bet that many more than just Corrie fans will enjoy seeing her performance and applauding her skills.
Georgia showed that she was not only willing to learn, working fiendishly hard to perfect new routines each week, but that she has a real aptitude for dancing and knows how to please the crowds.
We can expect this to be the start of seeing her in plenty of theatre productions, and a well-deserved shift in the direction of her career.
