I DO hope George Clooney doesn’t follow up his statement that he plans to quit acting because he thinks he’s getting too old.
Like many icons, he wants to focus on directing but it would be a real shame if that took him off the big screen entirely.
He’s 54 now, with a lengthy and successful acting career behind him, but he’s still attractive and a surprisingly good actor. Like many fans, I’m hoping to get along to see his latest film Hail, Caesar! which pokes fun at Hollywood’s golden age and is currently getting rave reviews.
Though he’s well-known for playing romantic leads like One Fine Day, he’s also shone in different roles as in The Monuments Men.
He broke plenty of female hearts as Dr Doug Ross in US TV medical drama ER in the ‘90s but I think he’s better looking and a more appealing actor today.
No, George, direct films if you must but, please, keep starring in them, too. It’s one of life’s innocent pleasures.
