ANGELINA Jolie has grown from being a mesmerising Oscar-winning actress to an earth mother and humanitarian.
The 41 year-old , married to fellow screen icon Brad Pitt, has three children of her own and they have adopted three more.
She is often seen championing the rights of the underprivileged and under-represented around the world and speaking eloquently about the need for aid.
Closer to home, as she revealed during a Woman’s House interview on Radio 4, she is encouraging an international approach with her children. While she explained that none of them is interested in acting as a career, they have all taken up languages. In fact, between them they’re learning seven languages.
Whatever the EU vote result tomorrow, this is a sensible move. Today’s children are likely to be working anywhere across the globe and need to be able to converse with people from other countries.
Languages are not only the key to career prospects but also to understanding others around the world – perhaps the best lesson of all.
