After the ups and downs of the Euros, Wimbledon has been offering a feast for tennis fans. We’ve gained some new heroes and applauded the top players showcasing their game.

However, this is just the tip of the tennis iceberg. Hundreds of lesser players desperately try to improve their rankings at international tournaments and only a handful hit the big time. It’s no reason to stop competing but it needs acknowledging that thousands won’t make it, and dreams regularly crash and burn trying to get there.
