I LOVE the sentiments of Bolton barber Kianoosh Zandi on a sign for his customers.
He pinned up a notice at his Great Moor Street premises stating: “No Wifi, try to talk to each other. Pretend it’s 1995.”
He’s right. The art of simple conversation with strangers is waning because so many people are glued to their phones and whinge if Wifi isn’t available.
Talking to one another is one of the great, easy pleasures of life. We learn so much about each other, and ourselves, and it’s comfortable contact that keeps us sane. Ditch the phones for a while!
