A LARGE amount of cheering was likely to greet headlines about persistent fly-tippers having their truck crushed.

The irresponsible couple involved in this case were eventually caught by police driving a tipper truck laden with waste, just over two weeks after they dumped a different load all over a Watford country lane.

They had dumped rubbish seven times, so the local council crushed their truck.

This is no more than such callous, selfish behaviour demands and it’s very likely that, if other local councils could adopt the same policy, fly-tipping incidents could be radically cut.

The word soon gets out.
