AMONG a list of do’s and don’ts for the dress code of BBC TV presenters via a leaked email is that the women shouldn’t wear Per Una.
This is Marks & Spencer’s flagship brand, much loved by middle-Englanders and a reliable staple buy. Just why it should have been selected among insistence on knee-length skirts, block colours and simple make-up (women) and no patterned clothes (everyone) is unknown.
In the town centre charity shop where I work each Saturday, we can sell Per Una items all day long as they’re popular. Not sure we’ve had in many BBC staff, though.
