PERHAPS we don’t always appreciate quite how much of a gem we have in Bolton Octagon.
It’s currently celebrating 50 years of bringing hugely entertaining theatre to our town and has just announced a £10 million redevelopment project. This will enlarge and modernise the building to improve its accessibility and accommodation for the Octagon’s excellent on and off-stage projects.
It will naturally be a modern design and already some don’t like it. But we have something special in the Octagon – a place which has always kept abreast of the times. Now, it will have a contemporary home for the future.
