WE can hopefully look forward to local fly-tippers being considerably lighter in their wallets from now on.
Bolton Council has now introduced new rules about this very anti-social crime which means £400 fines on the spot. Repeat offenders and cases of large scale fly-tipping will still be prosecuted through the courts with the prospect of fines up to £50,000 or a jail term.
All of this can all only work with the full co-operation of the public in reporting such criminals. So it’s up to us to watch out for any cases and help stop such blights on our areas.
