I WAS lucky enough to attend the annual autumn lunch of the Turton committee of Cancer Research UK at the Last Drop Village.
More than 200 guests enjoyed this popular event which not only raises so much for an important cancer charity but also highlights the latest research breakthroughs.
The hard-working Turton committee members raised more than £5,000 from this year’s event, to add to the remarkable £53,500 they have raised from the previous 11 lunches.
It just goes to show how volunteers can make a difference – and put on a really good-value and fun event year after year.
