WITHOUT being confined to wheelchairs ourselves, most of us have no idea how challenging daily life is for those who are wheelchair-bound.
Cerebral palsy sufferer Emily Riley from Radcliffe knows this well. She has experienced a five-year battle to travel from her home to the bus-stop and on to Bury College, made difficult by obstacles like parked vehicles and awkward pavements.
Now Bury Council has improved her route but thousands of other wheelchair users often face very similar difficulties. By just considering their situation and keeping it in mind, we can all help ease their daily commutes on local pathways.
