THE recent spate of incidents of anti-social behaviour at parks and sports clubs is a sad reflection of children’s lives today.

Like generations before them, they gather together for fun but this can quickly turn into damaging property and green spaces.

Bradshaw Cricket Club has had £700 worth of damage caused by a group of 30 or more youths gathering there and it’s not the first time.

Youngsters getting out of control is a situation suffered right across the borough and I’m afraid much of it is down to parents. If they don’t know exactly where their young teenage children are, what they’re doing and who they’re with then there’s a problem.

Some youngsters will be easily led and some will lead but they are all culpable and a conviction could blight lives. Families need to take a long, hard look at what is going on here and make changes.
