ADEQUATE amounts of healthy proteins are needed to gain muscle tone, strength, fat loss, greater energy levels . . . basically, results!

It is important with any fitness regime that you supply your body with enough healthy protein to, not only get the results you desire, but also to keep your body healthy and your mind happy.

Here are a few ways to make sure you get adequate amounts of healthy proteins in to your diet each day.

Firstly, try to get your protein from real food.

Eggs, fish, chick peas, avocado, tofu, nuts, seeds, meat, chicken are all great sources of protein.

Try to start your day off with a good source of protein rather than a sugary cereal — scrambled eggs, or a handful or nuts and seeds with a banana. This will also help to kick start your metabolism. Then, with each meal try to incorporate lean healthy proteins with healthy carbohydrates and good fats. Snacking on nuts and seeds will increase your daily protein intake too.

If you choose to add a protein shake to your training routine try to go for a good quality protein powder without sugars, sweeteners and additives.

Go for an organic or plant based protein as this is less likely to be filled with sugars and other nasties.

Remember, nutrition is key. Without supplying your body with the fuel it needs, it won’t be able to give you the results you want.
