WITH holiday season upon us, a question that many of my clients ask is 'how can I stay in shape while I am on holiday?'.
After working hard for months, eating well, training and getting yourself beach-body ready, the last thing you'll want to do is undo all that hard work in just a week.
Although most holiday resorts will have a gym, so you could always find your nearest one and stick to your workout programme whilst you're on holiday — but this may not be for everybody.
Resistance bands are a great travel accessory for those who want to workout on holiday.
They're light and won't take up much space in your suitcase.
Throw a couple of bands in your suitcase and do a short workout each day in your hotel room.
This will keep your muscles in check and give your metabolism a little boost each day.
Here's a workout that you could do each day, using body weight exercises and resistance bands, providing you have exercised before and have no orthopedic problems:
l Body weight squats
l Push ups
l Jumping jacks
l Reverse lunges
l Rows with resistance band
l Lateral raises with resistance band
l Shoulder press with resistance band
l Tricep press ups
l Sit ups
l Burpees
Perform 10-20 reps of each exercise with only a short break between each exercise, depending on your fitness level.
This will get your heart rate up and keep you looking good on the beach.
A game of beach volley ball or water polo will also help.
