IT’S great that Ironman UK has made its home in Bolton.
It seems to be a venue that suits the organisation and the participants, and it certainly suits the town. The event brings in local business – not just in hotels and eateries but in smaller businesses which rightly spot an entrepreneurial opportunity.
Most of all, it seems to suit local people who flock to the town centre to welcome the Ironmen and women home and the thousands of residents who line different parts of the routes, applauding the achievements of these remarkable people.
Now, it’s been confirmed that Ironman is back in Bolton next year and that’s good news. We’re glad to have them here, and long may this comfortable partnership between true athletes, good organisation and warm-hearted residents remain.
