Mean spirit over ticket
ON returning to my car after enjoying the Mayor’s motor rally, I met an elderly couple who had arrived back at their vehicle to discover a parking ticket on their windscreen for £75.
It transpired that their blue parking permit had expired on Saturday. How mean spirited can Bolton Council bureaucrats get?
There must be many such innocent occasions when the parking attendant should be able to use his commonsense and compassion and leave a warning notice instead of draconian penalty. Ian Jackson New Court Drive Egerton
