I TOTALLY agree with Cllr Dean in Wednesday’s Bolton News headline (Fly the flag).
He says we should sing the national anthem at school assemblies every morning and fly the union flag to try and increase a pupils’ national pride.
We as a country are losing our nationality and I bet more than half the population don’t know when St George’s Day is — April 23.
Fair play to the Irish. They certainly know how to celebrate St Patrick’s day and have a public holiday for it.
All the bars in Bolton have promotions and celebrate St Patrick’s Day, but when it comes to England’s day very few bars celebrate St George’s Day.
Never mind the fear offending somebody let’s put some pride back in our country for us, our armed forces and all the people that hold England dear.
