RECRUITING more nurses is a step in the right direction – but from abroad?
If this is due to government action by slashing internal recruitment, then shame on them.
I would much prefer we “grew” our own nurses, doctors and surgeons, who speak our language, understand its nuances and are familiar with our expected high standards.
From my own experience a nurse, a previous overseas intake lacked the basics of hygiene that I took for granted when admitted to our local hospital.
Another point — these new arrivals need housing and all the other amenities necessary for a life in Bolton, when we are already under pressure. Can’t the decision makers not see further than the end of their noses?
