I have been reading in The Bolton News (May 7) about the film being made of the Bill Naughton play “All In Good Time” and notice that no mention has been made of the fact that this is the second time this film has been filmed in Bolton. The original was filmed using parts of the Town Hall Square, Churchbank, the Haulgh, Raikes Lane and a pub in Astley Bridge, possibly the Lamb. The film, shot in about 1966, was called “The Family Way”, and starred Hayley Mills and Hywel Bennett as the young couple. Other cast members were John Mills, Marjorie Rhodes and, I think, Avril Angers.
One scene was shot in a shop in Victoria Square that was supposed to be a travel agents and some were shot on a bus going towards the town centre in Knowsley Street. There was also a scene at a chip van in Churchbank and motorbike scrambling around Raikes Lane.
