HOW I sympathise with Dale Haslam’s experience with an over officious conductor.
Two weeks ago at Manchester Airport, myself, my daughter and grandson were flying out to enjoy an eagerly awaited holiday.
After the endless queues at check-in and security, we finally reached the security desk, where I was ordered to take off my jacket.
As I was duly obliging, my grandson started to take off his own jacket at which the security “official” rudely shouted to him “You don’t take off your jacket until I tell you!”
I do realise that security measures must be employed in these awful times but is there any need for these people to be quite so rude and over officious.
There were quite a few people complaining about this attitude and many were saying that they didn't think a holiday abroad was worth putting oneself through this humiliating experience.
Personally, I don’t think I shall be bothering in future. It’s just not worth the hassle.
