REGARDING the letter by Cllr Martyn Cox ‘Counting true cost of Labour’ (September 26). Cllr Cox must think that the people of Bolton are thick in relation to political parties borrowing money.
So let’s put a few things straight about Government borrowing.
Tory Minister George Osbourne has borrowed more in three years in power than the previous Capitalist Labour did in 13 years.
Mr Osbourne added £1.2 trillion pounds to the national debt in his three years as Minister! If readers need evidence of this then please contact the Office for National statistics.
Similarly Tory Minister Ian Duncan-Smith has cost the taxpayer around £612 million pounds to implement his ill fated Universal credit benefit changes.
On top of this, the Tories have allowed £70 billion pounds (and rising) of tax avoidance to continue, when they are supposed to paying off the deficit that they keep banging on about. The deficit is a myth created by the Tories and there any numerous articles in broad sheet newspapers calling on Mr Cameron to apologise for the perpetuation of this myth.
If readers want evidence of this they should read Ramesh Patels article 'Finally exposed, the deficit is a myth.
David Cameron when are you going to apologise, and just to point out, that Ramesh Patel is both an economist, and a Tory, so this isn't left wing propaganda.
And finally to add, I am not a Labour Party supporter, I am a supporter of facts, Cllr Cox's letter was clearly misleading when his own Government are creating such huge ongoing debt for the Country.
