I WRITE in response to Sheila Parker (September 25).

I also went to see Journey's End at the Octagon and I agree with her that it was an amazing production.

She mentions the small audience numbers and this was evident when I went, but is not representative of other productions.

I have been a season ticket holder for six years and have seen a diverse programme of plays.

The standard has been excellent throughout and the majority have had near capacity audiences, with a large percentage being sell-outs.

So I say to the artistic director, please continue to share your excellent talent with the people of Bolton as we do fully appreciate the gift we have in our town centre.

To the actors, many of whom return to the Octagon over and over, I say thank you for providing us with excellent performances.

You make us laugh and cry, and give us lots to think about.

Finally, to Sheila Parker, I say please give the Octagon another chance. You won't be disappointed.
