I AGREE with all that Ian Greenhalgh says in his letter: “Ashamed of Labour”.
Although I wouldn’t say I’m ashamed of Labour I would be ashamed had I voted Tory, and even more so had I voted Lib/Dem. I’m more frustrated with Labour.
Most of the points Ian makes in his letter I have made myself on these pages.
Take the North Atlantic Trade Agreement, which should be Labour’s priority for the dustbin.
In a letter on these pages early in August, I asked for answers from our Labour MPs after reading about this very controversial trade agreement.
If this agreement gets the go-ahead, it will allow US companies to buy off the profitable parts of our NHS.
But there’s more! This agreement would also let these companies sue any future government that tried to re-nationalise any part of the NHS that had been sold, under this agreement. In other words, when it’s gone it’s gone for good.
As I said, I asked for answers via these pages two months ago, and I am still waiting.
Good luck Ian in your campaigning, because another five years under the Tories will see the end of our NHS for ever.
