MR Holstead, may I applaud the company behind the “consultation opportunity” for having the chance to comment on their development plans in Bromley Cross.
But some households who would be seriously affected have not had the courtesy of that leaflet drop which, of course, could influence the result of the survey.
As to his hint of a “precedent” having been set, may I point out that each new planning proposal has to be considered independently on its own merits.
Any legal restraints should be highlighted in the officer’s report and inwardly digested by the voting committee.
Furthermore, Bolton’s policy document acknowledges its obligations to consider the input and impact on council taxpayers already in situ, in tandem with the developer’s proposals.
Let’s hope our decision makers stand firm before the hitherto rural environment of Bromley Cross deteriorates further.
