MY wife and I have just returned from our first shopping trip to Wigan and what a wonderful surprise we both had. The centre was so busy with shoppers, so different from Bolton town centre. The indoor market and the outdoor market were a delight and the new shopping centre just looked the part, very busy and the tills were ringing? They have a bus station that is next door to the shopping areas so you do not have to walk from one end of the town to the other end.
The Wigan public have got a shopping centre that the public of Bolton would have liked and not the takeaways, grottie bars, pound shops and boarded up shops that we now have. Well done Wigan Council but I am afraid it's too late now Bolton Council to try and get the shoppers back, you never listened to what the Bolton public wanted in the first place.
