MAY I through your letters page thank the following for their help in making sure that Sunday's Remembrance Day parade and service was another reason to be proud to be the mayor of Westhoughton.
Firstly the police who managed the traffic on the parade route to an excellent standard, the Greenfield Brass Band for their playing and the last post. The various groups of both adult and children’s clubs who took part in the parade and last but not least our town clerk Christine Morris for all her hard work.
It was also great to see so many residents out by the memorial in what was a fine sunny Sunday morning and a fitting tribute to those of Westhoughton who have made the ultimate sacrifice. In the name of freedom and justice in two world wars and continue to do so the world over today
