AS secretary of Astley Bridge Legion Club I wold like tot hank all those who helped us remember the fallen in conflicts over the last 100 years.
The parade from the Club to St Paul's Church, Astley Bridge comprised club officials, members, ex-soldiers and their families, scouts and cubs and children from local schools led by Scottish pipers. In church a very moving service was conducted by Rev Dick McKie, colleagues and parishioners following which the parade returned to the club for an afternoon concert with artistes who gave freely of their time. An evening concert followed which included a short service by Rev McKie. Sincere thanks also to Greater Manchester police officers and PCSOs for safeguarding the parade.
