BOLTON Labour council plans to implement £43 million of cuts, but in they budget for 2015 to 2017, they will be using £40 million of reserves to privatise services, and operate a two tier workforce, 500 jobs will be axed, this is on top of the 1,350 lost since 2010.

But what is striking is that the budget for 2015 to 2017 will be run into the next Parliament, so it seems that even if a Labour government is elected the cuts and austerity programme will go on.

The cuts to services and job losses will devastate our already depleted local economy. Why can't the Labour council use the £43 million of reserves to put forward a positive no cuts budget which will help stimulate our local economy. Why should Labour meekly again rubber stamp coalition Government austerity policies, which are clearly not working.

What should happen is the people who caused our problems, the bankers should have their massive bonuses capped, something Mr Osborne is not happy with when the EU, ruled that bankers bonuses should be capped, he tried to get it scrapped, but failed.

What also should happen is that tax avoidance and evasion, by big corporations and the super rich, should be stopped, £120 billion is lost to the treasury every year because of this immoral practice.

Finally I appeal to Bolton Labour councillors if you care about your town and it's people, then vote against cuts, and support a no cuts budget, and to readers I say if you have had enough of damaging cuts in Bolton, then please support the mass lobby of Bolton Council today Wednesday, December 3 outside Bolton Town Hall, at 6.30 pm.
