THE letter o December 2 by Stuart Barnes expressing concern at concert attendances at the Victoria Hall is very apt/ As a regular attender at these concerts, I am now "put off" by having to queue half an hour in order to put my registration details in the unlit car park behind the hall.

Until recently we have been able to park for free, no hassle. but now the council in its wisdom or lack of it, has let the lease to a commercial parking group.

The "free" parking facilities ie Topp Way, Octagon are some distance away and the majority of concert supporters like myself are elderly and don't wish to walk such distances in the dark in winter.

I suggest that Mr Barnes should blame the council not the public for the audience size reduction but then when was the last time the council listened to the townsfolk?
