AN excellent letter from Andrew Davidson, December 15. All good points particularly when Andrew reminds us that you can't spend what you don't have. Can I respectfully develop: UK plc is at fault allowing this situation to happen both at government level and at individual level.
That said, the overseeing bodies that encouraged naive citizens into this obscenity seem to emerge blameless. Their sheer greed is obscenity itself. If it has achieved anything, it has surely achieved in trapping even more than ever UK citizens in eternal serfdom and "lacky-ism".
This is the new order of things; serfdom, lacky-ism, low wage economy, all achieved by the financial crisis and its economic wizardry. This same wizardry now wants the "have nots" to spend what they haven't got and the "haves" to rule by more lacky-ism and serfdom.
While the "have nots" remain too punch drunk to comprehend, the "others" fall asleep in the House of Lords for £300 per day and the "even others" pay £300 per day at their hairdresser.
