THE leader and chief executive of Bolton Council held a "consultation" meeting about proposed cuts to public services. at Bolton Central Library on Tuesday, January 13th.
Understandably, few people attended; this Labour council has already cut £100million pounds from public services despite several "consultations".
People may be unaware that the council leader, Clifford Morris gave an undertaking that the council would not outsource services to any firm which employs staff on zero hour contracts.
Trade unionists will be monitoring council services to ensure workers have acceptable conditions of service. Care services in particular will merit close scrutiny. It is to be hoped that the Bolton News will publish their findings.
