AFTER reading the report about the First TPE trains (Class 185's) being moved of the Blackpool service and being replaced by trains loaned from Northern Rail (Class 156), one of the key factors was that the Cass 156 trains would create a 4-car unit with additional 120 seats.
Guess what? Yes they will be formed to 4-car units but the extra number of seats will only be between 40 and 50 and NOT 120. After checking the seating plans on both sets of trains it seems that we are completely being misled, yet again! We will also lose First Class and catering with these loaned trains and yet the price of the tickets are not changing because of the downgrade of the service.
It is about time we are told the truth about the train services through Bolton and why we are being treated like third class citizens by all concerned.
