HAVING just read your article on the subject of bins or lack of them I feel compelled to comment.

Last year a fantastic cycle track/ path was created along the old railway track at the back of Somerton Road, right along Mosshouse Farm playing fields. As a dog owner I often use this track and always pick "it" up and take it home. However you always see bags of dog poo dumped at the side of the track. There will always be lazy people who will not take their dogs poo home for whatever reason so why on earth when planning such a fantastic facility was at least one bin not budgeted for? I frequently walk from Bury Road all the way past St John's church, down on to the track and into Leverhulme Park. The first bin is actually in the park.

For the council to say it is phasing out dog waste bins beggars belief. If we lived in a perfect world where everyone picked up and took it home, fine, but we don't so surely some provision needs to be made. With all the pointless money being spent on Bolton town centre you would think some could be spared to look after our countryside.
